Vanity Fair have just released their annual list of the world’s best dressed. While Justin Timberlake may have taken out the top gong for the blokes, it was interesting to see that three of Byran Ferry’s sons, Otis, Issac and Tara, also made the list. Their youngest brother Merlin missed out. Ouch.
Bryan Ferry has been a long time client of Savile Row tailor Anderson & Sheppard (see photo) and it looks like he has passed on the joys of an A & S suit to his sons – well three of them at least! Indeed while BERT was in the company of Mr Hitchcock, head tailor at Anderson & Sheppard, for issue 1 of BERT, he confided that he was expecting a couple of the Ferry boys in that very afternoon for a fitting. I have a feeling the bottle of Lagavulin on offer to clients might have got a bit of a look in givne the rowdy reputation of the boys Ferry.
While we were in London and visiting Anderson & Sheppard, we produced this short film for our friends at Origins of Luxury for their upcoming iPad book on Savile Row. Take a look below to see why Tara Ferry responded to Vanity Fair when announced in their best dressed list that his favourite item of clothing is his “Anderson & Sheppard suit”.
You can also read much more about Mr Hitchcock and Anderson & Sheppard in the first issue of BERT out now through the BERT app in the iTunes store.
